How to pack lightly
Mr Thuy from Doi Can Street,
Hanoi asked Travellive magazine: She was preparing to take a car tour and still
wondered how to pack lightly and Travellive magazine gave her some advices.
It is interesting to take a journey with all family members when our lives are
so busy. It can cause discomfort if someone reluctantly leaves their things at
home because there is no room. Travellive would like to suggest some following
tips and hopes that you will have a wonderful journey.
Pick, choose and lose
-Know what you want to bring before you start packing. Packing at last minute
usually leads to throwing lots of unnecessary things into your suitcase and you
will end up over packing.
-When planning outfits, you should study the weather of the destination and
decide the activities which you will be taking part in. Pack neutral colours
that can be worn more than once. That way you will be able to fit more
accessories and to change your look more. Remember jewelry scarves and other
accessories can be packed inside handbags to take up less room.
-Undrgarments fit nicely in gaps between clothes. If you roll your clothing
instead of folding it you will be able to fit a lot more in your bag. Plus
rolled clothing is less likely to get wrinkled.
Other stuff
-You can pack socks inside of shoes to more space. Then put them on top of all
your clothing.
-Decide what will take up the most room in your suitcase, be it a coat, boats,
sneaker or anything bulky, and wear that in the car
-Toiletries can take up a lot of space, but you can bring travel sizes. There is
also the option of just buying them when you get to your destination.
-Don’t pack anything valuable or important in your suitcase. Instead pack it all
in your purse
-You should bring inflatable buoys so you can inflate them when you get to your
destination .
Picking the right suitcase
If you can, use a duffel bag instead of a rolling suitcase with a hard case. A
duffel bag is soft and can be squeezed and manoeuvred into tight spaces.
