Foreign tourists surge in first half of the year

The number of tourists to Hanoi reached 4.53 million, according to estimates, increasing by 13.3% over the same period last year’s figure, including 0.58 million foreign visitors (an increase of 12%) in the first half of the year.
It is estimated that in 2010, Hanoi will welcome 1.4 million international tourists and 10 million domestic ones. In order to meet the planned target, the city’s tourism sector has been making preparations for various activities during the Great Festival to celebrate 1,000 years of Thang Long-Hanoi and the National Tourism Year 2010.
In July, Hanoi Tourism Promotion Center will also receive two delegations of travel businesses and reporters from the Southern and Central regions to discuss the tailoring of new tours to the city.
