National Tourism Year 2011 to be launched in coastal provinces

The National Tourism Year 2011, with the theme “Paradise tours to the Sea and Islands”, will be launched in the coastal provinces of Phu Yen, Quang Nam, Quang Ngai, Binh Dinh, Khanh Hoa, Ninh Thuan and Da Nang City.
On August 7th, the Ministry of Culture, Sports and Tourism, in cooperation with the Phu Yen People’s Committee, held a meeting for the Steering Committee of the program to prepare for the event.
Accordingly, the program will be launched nationwide at different times in 2011 by these coastal provinces and other localities.
The Ministry of Culture, Sports and Tourism will launch 9 main activities such as a mountain climbing tournament, a Vietnamese–Korean culture exchange, Vietnam sea and island tourism month program, ASEAN traditional music festival, the 17th Vietnamese Film Festival, to name a few.
Also, Phu Yen Province also launches 9 main programs such as a poetry festival, meeting for the 400th founding anniversary of Phu Yen Province and the opening ceremony of the National Tourism Year 2011. Other coastal provinces will organise 12 main activities in localities.
At the meeting, Hoang Tuan Anh, Minister of Culture, Sports and Tourism, urged Phu Yen Province to improve popularisation tasks to introduce cultural identities and tourism potentials, and prepare good infrastructure to receive domestic and foreign visitors in order to develop Vietnam’s tourism sector.
