Ho Chi Minh City – Nagoya direct flight resumed after a two-year suspension
The direct flight route between Ho Chi Minh (HCM)
City, Vietnam and Nagoya, Japan was resumed on August 13th, with two flights a
week on Mondays and Fridays by Airbus A321.
Previously, the national flag carrier Vietnam Airlines opened the route in July
2005. However, due to limitations in human resources in the circumstances of
Japan suffering from the global economic downturn, the flight was suspended in
December 2007.
With the resumption, since August 13th, flights with number VN968 will depart
from HCM City at 00.05 am and those with number VN969 will depart from Nagoya at
11.30 am, with the flight duration at 5 hours and half.
This is the fourth direct flight from HCM City to Japan and the eighth flight
between Vietnam and Japan operated by Vietnam Airlines.
Vietnam Airlines is tapping 45 direct flights weekly to big cities of Japan and
it currently seizes the largest market share on the aviation transport market
between Vietnam and Japan.
