Film week to mark National Day
The Cinematographic Department will work with the
Departments of Culture, Sports and Tourism from 63 cities and provinces and the
National Cinema Centre to hold a film week for the 65th anniversary of the
August Revolution and National Day from August 31-September 9.
The information was announced at a press conference in Hanoi on August 24.
The Cinematographic Department will assign the Vietnam Film Import-Export and
Distribution Company (FAFILM Vietnam) to send its films to the provinces and
cities. The film week is scheduled to begin in Hanoi and Ho Chi Minh City on
August 31. Free entrance is offered to movie fans on the first day of the event.
The film week will screen some feature films including Dung Dot (Don’t Burn),
Nhin Ra Bien Ca (Look at the Sea), Duoc Song (Right to Live) and Sinh Menh
(Life) along with some documentary films like Buoc Ngoat (Turning Point), Tieng
Vi Cam o My Lai (The Sound of the Violin in My Lai) and Cao Nguyen Da (Stone
Plateau).
The National Cinema Centre and the August Cinema in Hanoi, the Thang Long A
Cinema in Ho Chi Minh City and cinema centres in other provinces and cities will
open their film week by screening the new feature film named Hoa Dao (Peach
Blossom).
