International Tourism Festival to be held in Hanoi

The Thang Long–Hanoi International Tourism Festival 2010, part of a program during the National Tourism Year 2010, will be held from October 2nd to 5th at the Bao Son Paradise Theme Park in Hanoi to celebrate the 1,000th Anniversary of Thang Long–Hanoi and the 50th anniversary of Vietnam’s tourism sector.
The upcoming event, with various artistic and cultural activities, will see the participation of local people, domestic and foreign travel agencies, businesses and organisations. The opening ceremony will be broadcast live on VTV channels on October 2nd.
Hanoi and Vietnam’s tourism potentials and products will be promoted during the event. The festival is a good chance for domestic travel agencies to seek business opportunities with foreign partners.
According to Mai Tien Dung, Deputy Director of the city’s Department of Culture, Sports and Tourism, domestic and international businesses will put their products on display at around 400 booths.
A seminar, entitled “Promoting values of heritages and craft villages to develop tourism”, will also be held during the festival, and foreign art troupes, taking part in the 1,000th Anniversary of Thang Long–Hanoi, will give special performances.
