Logo-slogan design contest for Vietnam tourism launched
A contest for a logo-slogan design for Vietnam
tourism in the 2011-2015 period of the National Tourism Promotion Programme was
launched yesterday.
The contest aims to find a slogan and a logo which portrays the country’s
attraction and competitive advantages and the tourism sector development
strategy to attract more international visitors to Vietnam.
Entries should reflect the appeal of Vietnam tourism with harmonious colours,
leave a deep impression on viewers, and they should not be similar to any
slogans or logos that have already been used in Vietnam or anywhere else. The
entries should also be presented in both Vietnamese and English.
The contest is open to professional companies, organisations and individuals in
the fields of brand building, logo-slogan design, marketing, and tourism
consultancy at home and abroad.
Entries should be sent to the Tourism Market Department, No. 80 Quan Su Street
in Hanoi or emailed to slogcontest@vietnamtourism.gov.vn. The contest deadline
is December 15, 2010.
First prize is VND 50 million (around US$2,600), and second and third prizes are
VND 30 million (around US$1,600) and VND 20 million (around US$1,000),
respectively.
The contest is held jointly by the Ministry of Culture, Sports and Tourism and
the Vietnam National Administration of Tourism.
Vietnam tourism’s slogan for 1999-2000 was ‘Vietnam – The Destination for the
New Millennium’; ‘Welcome to Vietnam’ was for 2004-2005 and the current slogan
‘Vietnam – The Hidden Charm’ is for the 2006-2010 period.
In the 2010-2020 Vietnam Tourism Development Programme, tourism is being
considered a major economic industry which brings significant income to the
country, creates more jobs and contributes to a shift in the economic structure.
