Food Festival to cook up a storm for 1,000 year birthday
As one of the main activities to celebrate the
1,000-year anniversary of Thang Long - Hanoi, Ha Thanh Food Festival will be
held on October 6-11 at West Lake Park, 614 Lac Long Quan Street in Hanoi’s Tay
Ho District.
The festival will have more than 130 booths including 60 booths featuring
Hanoi’s food - past and present, 50 foreign food booths and 10 booths for
calligraphy and Dong Ho paintings.
The festival will re-enact the trade activities and daily life from former
dynasties. Signs showing Dong Xuan, Dong Ba and Ben Thanh markets will let
people know where to buy food from the North, Central and South.
Covering eight hectares and in three sections of Ha Thanh culture, Viet market
and folk games – it will be a great way for tourists to discover the dishes,
traditional games and hobbies of Hanoi people.
Crafts such as silk, paintings, ceramics and fine art will be available to buy
and there will be plenty of entertainment.
The event is expected to attract 20,000 visitors a day.
