Homeland culture to be brought to Vietnamese in Thailand
The Vietnam-Thailand Cultural Association will
hold a Bangkok-Hanoi culture and tourism programme in the Thai capital from
September 27 – October 2, expected to attract many overseas Vietnamese living in
Thailand.
Vu Nguyen Anh Tuyet, vice chairwoman of the Vietnam-Thailand Cultural
Association said the programme will provide participants with the chance to
learn about Vietnam’s culture and customs, as well as contribute to the
country’s development.
It will also help promote Vietnam-Thailand traditional relationship, she said.
Speaking at a press conference for the event, Vietnamese Ambassador to Thailand
Ngo Duc Thang highlighted the significance of King Ly Thai To’s decision to move
the capital from the mountainous Ninh Binh area to the Red River Delta and to
rename it Thang Long (Ascending Dragon).
**The Hanoi Municipal People’ Committee is working with the Ministry of Foreign
Affairs to organise a foreign press week in Vietnam from September 9-15. The
press week aims to reflect Hanoi’s preparations for the grand anniversary as
well as Vietnam’s achievements.
The week will include activities to introduce Vietnam’s intangible heritages and
visits to the Royal Citadel, the Temple of Literature, and the Old Quarter in
Hanoi.
