Binh Thuan province’s tourism on the rise

Binh Thuan province has received nearly 1.7 million visitors since the beginning of this year, an increase of 14.9% over the same period in 2009. This brings the provincial tourism sector turnover to VND 1,547 billion (around US$80 million).
The province welcomed 220,000 tourists in August this year, including nearly 20,000 foreigners, most of whom came from Russia, Germany, France, Australia and the Repulic of Korea.
Four more tourism projects have been granted licenses, bringing the number of projects in the province to 405 with total investment capital of VND 57 billion (around US$3 million).
Both the number of visitors and turnover of the tourism sector in September are expected to rise sharply as three festivals including the Nghing Ong Quan Thanh, Mid-Autumn and Kate festivals are going to be held in Phan Thiet city.
