Foreigners to take part in parade during Great Festival
150 foreigners will join a parade, to be held at the Ba Dinh Square on October
1st, to celebrate the 1,000th anniversary of Thang Long – Ha Noi, according to
the Hanoi Union of Friendship Organisations (HUFO).
During the upcoming Great Festival, HUFO will work with other agencies and
organisations for 12 activities to mark the event.
Accordingly, HUFO will host an international contest to learn about Hanoi, as
part of a plan to improve relations between Vietnam and foreign countries, and
this will be held on October 7th at the Hanoi Opera House.
On September 24th at 45 Trang Tien Street, a five-day photo exhibition, “Hanoi
of 1,000 Years through Foreigners’ Eyes”, will display beautiful photos, taken
by international friends and various diplomats.
In addition, HUFO will work with the UNESCO and the Vietnam–Cuba Friendship
Association to launch art performances and music programs during the Great
Festival.
In particular, diplomats’ wives will present gifts to certain babies, all of
whom will be born on October 10th. On this occasion, a charity marathon race
will be launched to raise funds for children suffering from childhood illnesses.
