Hanoi tourism ready for giant celebration

Hotels, travel agents, and airlines in Hanoi finished preparations and are ready for welcoming tourists to the capital’s millennium birthday. “Hanoi has nearly 300 hotels of three to five stars and thousands of small hotels to be capable of receiving millions of tourists during the giant celebration”, said Mr. Ho Quang Loi, Head of the Hanoi Party Committe’s Department of Propaganda and Training.
So far, Boss Hotel at 20 Lo Su Street, Hoan Kiem has had 25 out of 52 rooms booked for 10 days of the anniversary. Mr. To Tuan Anh, Head of the hotel’s Marketing Office said that Boss upgraded rooms and opened more tours to Hoa Lu, Bai Dinh.
Ms Huong, Deputy Director of Hoa Binh four-star Hotel said that the hotel repaired the interior to meet the demand of tourists. From the end of September to the beginning of October, 55 rooms were booked and only 15 rooms are put aside for the last two days of the anniversary, October 8th and 10th.
Some travel agents designed more tours focusing on Hanoi such as: Hanoi, 36 streets; Hanoi – Ninh Binh; routes through trade villages on the outskirts of Hanoi. Moreover, tours to discover old streets on tramcars will be a focus to introduce more about street trade and the gastronomy culture of Hanoi to tourists.
Pham Hoang Tuan, Head of the Tourism Promotion Office, the Vietnam – Hanoi Tourism Joint-stock Company said the company prepared nearly 200 rooms and cars for the Thang Long – Hanoi International Tourism Festival from October 2nd to 5th in the Bao Son Heaven Park.
The Saigon Travel Service Company (Saigontourist) offered 50 tours to welcome the great festival of the 1,000th anniversary of Thang Long – Hanoi. These tours, with the aim of taking tourists from Southern localities to the capital city of 1,000-year culture, will focus on Hanoi’s historical sites and well-known landscapes of the North.
The low cost carrier Jetstar Pacific launched a program, namely “Lucky Dragon” selling 1,000 airfares costing nearly VND 100,000 in celebration of the 1,000th anniversary of Thang Long – Hanoi. The airfares will be offerd during five consecutive weeks, from September 9th to October 10th.
According to the Hanoi People’s Committee, French and Russian Presidents, the English Prince and many state leaders will join the anniversary. Moreover, more than 200 autos will be mobilized to greet 41 foreign delegations and 62 delegations from other provinces and cities to the millennium birthday.
