Hanoi Museum to open with 50,000 items
The largest project invested by Hanoi authorities
will open on October 6 with 50,000 artifacts.
On that day, an ornamental tree festival will be held at the three-hectare
campus of this museum, confirmed Hanoi Vice-Chair Ngo Thi Thanh Hang.
At a cost of 2.3 trillion dong ($121 million), this was the largest project by
Hanoi in May 2008, when the project began.
The museum has a total area of nearly 54,000 square meters, 30.7 meter high. It
includes four stories and two-story basement.
The museum is designed as an upside-down pyramid, with the fourth floor as the
largest.
According to Hanoi authorities, the Hanoi Museum and the National Conference
Centre have supported each other to make a large complex.
During Hanoi’s great anniversary (October 1-10), many key works in Hanoi will be
inaugurated, comprising Hoa Binh Park, President Ho Chi Minh – President Ton Duc
Thang statues at Thong Nhat Park (October 6), Vinh Tuy and Thanh Tri Bridge, and
Thang Long avenue (October 9).
The city has made public the detailed program for its 10-day great anniversary.
