Tay Ninh offers a world of tour options
With famous Ba Den Mountain, Dau Tieng Lake, Lo Go
- Xa Mat National Park, Cao Dai Holy See and other cultural and historical
heritage sites, Tay Ninh Province has become an attractive destination of
domestic and international tourists.
On visiting Tay Ninh Province, tourists can discover the legendary Ba Den
Mountain which is 986m in height and visit a museum and pagoda in the Kim Quang
Grotto. Every year, many people take a pilgrimage to the mountain and take part
in the Ba Den Festival and Spring Festival on the mountain.
Tourists have ideal opportunity to admire the Cao Dai (Tay Ninh) Holy See which
is 5km to the southeast from Tay Ninh Town. The Holy See began construction in
1933 and finished in 1947. The Cao Dai Holy See came into use in 1955. The Holy
See is located on the 1sq.km campus which includes a Buddhist temple, a park and
a forest. The temple itself is 140m long, 40m wide with 36m Tam Dai Tower, 25m
Hiep Thien Dai Tower and the 30m Cuu Trung Dai and Bat Quy Dai towers. The Holy
Land faces the west. In the Holy See, there are two lines of pillars shaped like
green, red and white dragons. The ceiling is divided into nine parts which is
painted with the sky, clouds and stars. Tourists can also see other famous
construction works of the province in the campus.
If you are eco-tourists, Dau Tieng Lake located in the south of the province is
an ideal choice. The Sai Gon River, which flow through the province, is blocked
and forms the Dau Tieng Lake - the biggest irrigation work in Vietnam. Twenty
kilometers from the Tay Ninh Town, the lake lies on the tourism route including
Tay Ninh Town - Cao Dai Holy See and Ba Den Mountain. The lake area is 27,000ha
with capacity of 1.5 million meters of water which are supplied to vast fields
in the province and surrounding provinces. With wide space, beautiful
landscapes, natural oases and fresh air, the lake is an ideal escape for
tourists.
In addition, Lo Go - Xa Mat National Park is another eco-tourism zone in the
province. The park covers on 18.806ha in four communes of Tan Lap, Tan Binh,
Hiep Hoa and Thanh Tay in the Tan Bien District.
The park has abundant biodiversity and is the only fresh water swamp forest in
Vietnam, rich in valuable flora and fauna. The park is very suitable for camping
combined with visiting revolutionary bases. Tourists can visit the vestiges of
the Southern Central Bureau 64km from the Tay Ninh Town. In the American War, a
70ha area became the base of the Southern Central Bureau - the command center of
the southern revolution. Going from the Xa Mat Border Crossing to the historic
complex, the first stop is the Southern Bureau's Security Department. The site
contains the working offices of the Southern Bureau's leaders, administrative
offices, a meeting room, and a kitchen. These departments and offices connect
with each other through a 430m road and 1,253m stretch of tunnels.
Visiting Tay Ninh, tourists can take adventure tourism forms such as mountain
climbing and caving. In addition, touring and studying the cultural heritage of
temples and pagodas can be an interesting experience, especially the two ancient
towers of Binh Thanh (in Trang Bang District) and Chot Mat (in Tan Bien
District). Tourists can visit traditional craft villages and enjoy the
province's specialties. Among those, Trang Bang District is famous for rice
noodles and girdle cake which is covered in dew. These specialties have become
popular products with domestic and international tourists alike.
Legendary mountains, vast deltas, beautiful landscapes and long-standing
historical and cultural heritage sites have created rich tourism potential for
Tay Ninh Province. With Xuyen A transport route and Moc Bai Border Crossing, Tay
Ninh is considered a bridge between the key economic zone of the south and ASEAN
countries. Tay Ninh Province has had close relationship with other provinces in
the region, especially Ho Chi Minh City and tightly works with travel agents in
Ho Chi Minh City to attract tourists from Cambodia and Thailand and transfers
domestic tourists to Cambodia and Thailand through Moc Bai and Xa Mat border
crossings.
