Duong Lam ancient village five years after recognition as national relic
On September 20th, a ceremony to mark the 5th year
that Duong Lam ancient village was recognized as a national artistic and
architectural relic, took place in the village, Son Tay town, Hanoi.
There are more than 800 ancient houses with laterite walls and 16 cultural
historical relics, said Pham Hung Son, head of the management board for the
Duong Lam ancient village relics.
Over the past five years, the management board has cooperated with Vietnamese
and international friends to restore 6 ancient houses, village gates and a
pagoda; research intangible cultural values such as gastronomy, traditional
clothes; and made a general plan for the village to submit to the Hanoi city
People’s Committee for approval.
There have been millions of visitors to the village over the past five years.
