Vietnam’s Spratly Islands featured in photos and sculptures
In response to a campaign of composition about the
country’s sea and islands, the Vietnam Fine Arts Association, on Sept 21st,
opened a ten-day exhibition, “Coming to Vietnam’s Spratly Islands”, at No16 Ngo
Quyen, Hanoi.
Displayed at the exhibition were photos, sculptures and sketches, which were
composed by Vietnamese painters and sculptors, Dao Chau Hai, Ly Truc Son, Tran
Nhu Hieu, Le Van Nhuong, and Phan Oanh, during their fact-finding tours to
Vietnam’s Spratly Islands (Truong Sa) from May 31st to June 9th.
Of particular interest were 80 paintings by Vietnamese soldiers and children
depicting sentiments and the spiritual life of people on the Spratly Islands.
