Spanish artists to celebrate Hanoi’s Millennium with Dragon Festival

The Dragon Festival, jointly held by the Embassy of Spain in Vietnam and the Ministry of Culture, Sports and Tourism, will take place on the evening of October 2nd, at the My Dinh National Stadium.
The Festival, part of activities to celebrate the Millennium of Thang Long-Hanoi, will include fireworks, unique music and dances.
During the event, 19 Spanish artists from the Els Comediants group and 18 Vietnamese artists from the Vietnam Circus Federation will have mixed performances of Vietnam’s traditional culture and with some Mediterranean features.
The Els Comediants group is popular for its impressive performances, not only in Spain, but also all over the world. It performed at the closing ceremony of the Olympic Games in Barcelona in 1992.
For over 30 years now, it has created a lot of street performances inspired from fire, an existing element in all traditional festivals from in the Mediterranean.
