Red River Wet Rice Civilization to be exhibited
On September 26th, at the Dam Bong Eco-Garden in
Hoang Mai District in Hanoi, a twenty-day exhibition, entitled “The Red River
Wet Rice Civilization with Millennium of Thang Long-Hanoi”, will display 1,000
rare tortoises, 1,000 old coins and notes, 1,000 farming tools, and 1,000 other
products.
According to the organiser, KAT Group, the exhibition is to introduce and honor
cultural values of the wet rice civilization to spectators, partly contributing
to elevating domestic and international tourists’ awareness of protecting
wildlife, especially the endangered, such as the species of tortoises listed on
the world’s and Vietnam’s Red Books.
Nguyen Ngoc Khoi, the KAT Group’s CEO, said that he has worked with other
scientists in doing research and searching for tortoises with DNA similar to
species of the so-called “Sword Lake” tortoises, for breeding.
All proceeds, earning from different activities during the exhibition, will be
donated to the Hanoi Fund for Victims of Agent Orange/Dioxin.
