Show gives Glimpse Into Southeast Asia
The cultures and ethnic diversity of Southeast
Asia are on display at the Vietnam Museum of Ethnology today to celebrate the
Museum’s 15th anniversary and Hanoi’s 1,000th.
Besides exhibits, “A Glimpse Into Southeast Asia” will also feature conservation
and restoration and multimedia displays on Southeast Asian cultures.
It will also give guests a foretaste of the Southeast Asian Museum to be opened
just next to the museum on Nguyen Van Huyen Street in Cau Giay district.
The Southeast Asian Museum has been under construction since 2007 and it is
scheduled to open this year.
It will seek to highlight the links between Vietnamese ethnic groups and those
in the rest of Southeast Asia as well as Vietnam’s responsibility as an ASEAN
member to disseminate and preserve the region’s identity.
The exhibition is organized by the Vietnam Museum of Ethnology and tickets cost
VND3,000 to VND25,000 (US$1.3).
