Tourism TV Channel comes to viewers
Ministry of Culture, Sports and Tourism (MoCST)
and Vietnam Television (VTV) on October 9 held a ceremony to inaugurate Tourism
TV Channel.
The ceremony saw the participation of Deputy Minister of MoCST Ho Anh Tuan,
Deputy General Director of VTV Nguyen Thanh Luong, General Director of Vietnam
National Administration of Tourism (VNAT) Nguyen Van Tuan, Chairman of Vietnam
Tourism Association Nguyen Phu Duc, Former Deputy General Director of VNAT Pham
Tu, and representatives of Central Propaganda Commission, MoCST’s bodies, travel
companies and press agencies.
Addressing the ceremony, Deputy Minister Ho Anh Tuan affirmed the close
relationship between tourism and the media, particularly television. Application
of digital technology offers viewers convenient access to tourist destinations
and products, which makes them potential clients of tourism industry.
The channel is developed aiming at popularizing Vietnam tourism; promoting the
country as a safe, friendly and attractive destination; providing viewers with
official information of tourism industry; introducing tourist products of
Vietnam.
The birth of tourism TV channel would not only have the meaning of a
breakthrough for the industry but also be a media vehicle to introduce
Vietnamese people, culture and landscape to domestic and international audience.
VNAT’s General Director Nguyen Van Tuan was proud that the channel is the first
official tourism one of Vietnam and the time of inauguration coincides with the
sacred Grand Anniversary of Thang Long – Hanoi.
At 10:00, MoCST’s Deputy Minister Ho Anh Tuan and VTV’s Deputy General Director
Nguyen Thanh Luong together pressed the button to officially inaugurate the
Tourism TV Channel broadcast on VTV’s Cable TV (VCTV).
