Aviation market gains strong growth in first nine months

The Civil Aviation Administration of Vietnam (CAAV), on October 12th, reported that Vietnam’s aviation market has maintained high growth rate in the first nine months of this year with over 15 million passengers, over 20% more than last year.
Of the figure, Vietnam Airlines, Jetstar Pacific and Vietnam Air Services Company (Vasco) had served over 11 million passengers, up by 24% over the same period last year.
In terms of cargo, the sector attained a growth rate of over 36% compared to the same period last year with 340,000 tons.
It is estimated that Vietnam’s aviation sector will do even better in the last months of this year as CAAV has again allowed foreign carriers, such as Turkish Airlines and Qatar Airways, to increase flights and open new routes to Vietnam in the fourth quarter of this year.
