Visitors tour Hanoi by electric buses

During 10 days of Hanoi’s 1,000th Anniversary, the number of tourists sightseeing in the city by electric buses increased from 30% to 40% in comparison to normal days, said a businessman.
Mr. Do Xuan Thuy, Director of Dong Xuan Company, which provides the electric bus service, said that among the passengers who used the company’s service, 30% were international visitors.
He also added that, in fact, the demand was much higher but due to his company’s limitation in the number of buses, it could only serve 1,000 passengers per day.
To meet the increasing demand for the electric buses, Mr. Thuy’s company plans to import an additional eight electric buses, raising the number of electric buses of the company to 20.
The newly-imported electric buses will be put in operation by the end of this month.
