More river tours to be launched in HCMC
Ho Chi Minh City’s tourism sector is planning to
launch several river tours around the city to attract more tourists in the near
future.
The city’s river tourism development project was started few years ago, however,
no tour has thus far been launched due to lack of facilities, tourism products,
and services.
After a field trip held on November 6th, Ms. Nguyen Thi Hong, Vice Chairman of
the HCMC People’s Committee, said that the city will create favorable conditions
for river tours in the near future.
She added that the city’s tourism sector will work with Dong Nai and Binh Duong
Provinces to conduct comprehensive, coordinated, and long-haul river tours.
Accordingly, a short-haul river tour will be launched at the end of this year.
The tour will take tourists from the Bach Dang port to visit several local
tourist sites, such as the village of painters in District 2, the Hoi Son
Pagoda, Ba Xe Island, Nguyen Huu Canh Temple, and Buu Long tourist area, to name
a few.
