MICE tourists expected to soar

According to several travel agencies in Ho Chi Minh City, the number of MICE (Meeting-Incentive-Conference-Event) tourists arriving in the city is expected to soar at the end of the year.
In the beginning of November, Vietravel Company opened a MICE tour for 600 visitors from Manulife. Figures showed that during the first ten months of 2010, MICE tourists from Vietravel rose by 30% over the same period last year.
In October, Saigontourist Travel Services Company also received around 3,500 MICE tourists, bringing its total number of such visitors in the first ten months of this year to 70,000 people, a year-on-year increase of 20%. Notaby, international MICE tourists mainly came from Japan, the U.S, Singapore and Europe, with an average rate of 50-300 visitors per delegation.
