HCMC takes care of cultural heritage preservation
The Ho Chi Minh City’s Department of Culture,
Sports and Tourism, in conjunction with the Ho Chi Minh City Museum, have
organised a seminar to discuss archaeology during the urbanisation period.
The event, with the participation of representatives from agencies and
organisations as well as leading experts, focused on two main topics, HCMC’s
archaeological activities during the last three decades and measures to preserve
cultural relics and architecture.
The participants at the seminar also talked about cultural heritage
preservation.
According to Dr. Nguyen Thi Hau, Vice-Head of the HCMC Research and Development
Institute, said that it is necessary to gather information and data to map
regional and national archaeological areas and to take measures to maintain
ancient archaeology relics.
The participants also requested that local relevant agencies in urban management
should have plans to protect and upgrade architecture heritages.
