Two major airport projects to be assessed

The Government Office has asked the Ministry of Transport to submit a cost-effective analysis of the project to build the Tien Lang International Airport in Hai Phong city.
Mr. Dinh Viet Thang, Deputy-Director of the Civil Aviation Administration of Vietnam pointed out that Tien Lang International Airport would serve as a reserved facility for the Noi Bai International Airport and replace Cat Bi airport in Hai Phong City.
The 4,000 hectares Tien Lang International Airport is expected to be built in Tien Lang district, Hai Phong Port City.
The Government Office also gave instructions on the construction of the Long Thanh International Airport in Dong Nai Province.
The Government has entrusted the Ministry of Transport to identify the project phases to be identical with its investment and assess the economic and financial impacts between Tan Son Nhat and Long Thanh International Airports, especially when Long Thanh International Airport is put into operation.
