Vietnam, China plan joint tour on Ho Chi Minh
Potential of tours linking places in Vietnam and
China where President Ho Chi Minh stayed during his revolutionary career have
been discussed in both countries.
A workshop on a “China-Vietnam Red Tour”, the second of its kind, was held by
the Ho Chi Minh Museum in collaboration with the Longzhou district, the China
province of Guangxi and the Guangxi Social Science Institute on Nov. 26 and 28
in Longzhou and Hanoi, respectively.
Participants stressed the politic, cultural, diplomatic and economic
significance of such as tour. Apart from increasing the two countries’ tourist
exchange, the tourist project is expected to attract more tourists from other
countries to Vietnam ’s northeast region as well as China’s Guangxi province.
Within the workshop’s framework, Chinese firms conducted surveys on some
potential places for the “red tour” such as the Hoang Van Thu Museum in the
northern Vietnamese province of Lang Son, the former “safe zone” during
Vietnam’s resistance war in Dinh Hoa district of Thai Nguyen province, the
President Ho Chi Minh relic site and Ho Chi Minh Museum in Hanoi.
At the first workshop in Longzhou in 2008, the two sides announced documents on
places where President Ho Chi Minh and revolutionary predecessors, such as Hoang
Van Thu, Truong Chinh, Hoang Quoc Viet, used to stay and involve in
revolutionary activities.
Meanwhile, the Vietnam National Administration of Tourism (VNAT) in September
conducted a survey on possible tour linking Cao Bang, Bac Can, Thai Nguyen and
Lang Son provinces and cooperation possibility between these provinces and
Guangxi province.
The VNAT also helped firms of Vietnam and the three Chinese provinces of Yunnan,
Guangdong and Guangxi to share information, experiences and promote tourist
plans to both countries’ tourists.
During his revolutionary life, President Ho Chi Minh travelleved many countries
in Asia, Europe and America . He stayed for long periods in Guangxi province of
China . Longzhou district alone is home to 12 relics relating to on President Ho
Chi Minh./.
