International Conference on tourism development cooperation

An International Conference on tourism development cooperation between Thua Thien Hue, Quang Tri, Quang Binh and Laos, Thailand was held in Hue city, on Nov 11th 2010.
Thua Thien Hue, Quang Binh and Quang Tri boasting the diversity of topography, ecology and potentialities of heritage and culture, are considered wonderful destinations for tourists. Furthermore, these provinces lie along the East-West Economic Corridor (EWEC) linking Laos - Thailand to the East Sea, which is convenient for tourism development.
Currently, the core issues of the localities are mutual assistance in human resource development, promoting to expand market, developing destinations and tourist products. In addition, the North of Central Vietnam, the Central of Laos and Northeastern area of Thailand should cooperate to develop tourism, organize tourism events, support tourism enterprises to open representative offices, invest in transport infrastructure as well as simplify customs procedures...
At the Conference, the tourism sectors of the 3 countries agreed to enhance cooperation to take full advantage of tourist potential of the EWEC, aiming at faster, stronger, and more sustainable development.
The Representatives also signed memorandum of understanding on cooperating to improve service quality, sharing tourism markets, distributing and marketing tourist products as well as cooperating in transportation and service provision.
