More tourists to Phu Yen central coastal province

Since the beginning of this year, the Southern Central coastal province of Phu Yen has welcomed more than 312,500 visitors, including 12,000 international tourists, an increase of 20% compared to the same period last year.
The province’s Department of Culture, Sports, and Tourism said, thanks to the increased number of tourists, the provincial tourism sector earned 249.5 billion VND, an increase of 1.7 times compared to last year’s figure, and 50% of the local hotel rooms were used up.
Recently, the province’s tourist sector has invested in upgrading its infrastructure. An additional 21 hotels, including the four-star Saigon–Phu Yen Hotel, have been put into operation. At present, the province has 88 hotels with thousands of high standard rooms.
The province’s tourism sector has also launched training courses for tourism staff to improve the quality of tourist products and services, while actively preparing for the National Tourism Year 2011 to be held in South-Central coastal provinces.
