Seminar discusses measures to attract more tourists to Ha Long

A seminar themed “Strategies and solutions to increase the attraction of international tourists to Ha Long” was held recently in Ha Long City, in the northern Province of Quang Ninh on December 7th. The event drew the participation of nearly 90 cadres and teachers and students from the Lee Kuan Yew School of Public Policy.
Accordingly, around 60% of the total of over 2.5 million tourists coming to Ha Long during the past eleven months of this year were international visitors. The high number often led to overloads at the harbour embarkation points and other places in Ha Long Bay.
During the seminar, delegates put forward many opinions and solutions to further attract international tourists to Ha Long Bay. Apart from investment to upgrade the facilities of ships, boats and speeding up operation of cruisers and attracting foreign investment, the province’s tourism sector should create more special and attractive tourism products to meet demands of visitors.
