Tours for Tet holidays specially tailored

Travel agencies and companies are accelerating their design of tours for Tet holidays to meet the growing demands of not only Vietnamese, but also international tourists as there are only two weeks left until the Lunar New Year.
This year, the tour, “Foreigners enjoy Traditional Tet of Vietnam” and other Lunar New Year food programs have been well-prepared to receive the number of tourists, expected to increase in comparison with that of last year.
According to Doan Thi Thanh Tra, Head of the Marketing Department of Saigontourist Company, more than 8,500 international tourists had registered to take part in the Company’s above tour.
This is the 8th time Saigontourist tailored such a special program for international tourists and overseas Vietnamese. They will welcome tourists registering this tour from January 26th.
During the tour, tourists will contemplate flowers in the Tao Dan Park, find out about the spiritual life of Vietnamese by paying a visit to pagodas to pray for good luck, and enjoy unique Tet dishes and jams with local citizens in Ho Chi Minh City.
Besides, they could experience Tet preparations in the Cuu Long River Delta by wrapping cylindrical glutinous rice cakes, decorating houses and ornamenting five-fruit trays, all with assistance from local people.
Moreover, restaurants, hotels and resorts under Saigontourist will also offer Lunar New Year dishes and New Year’s Eve parties that patrons will not forget.
Apart from the tour “Foreigners enjoy Traditional Tet of Vietnam”, tours to Hoi An, Danang and Cuu Long River Delta are also being chosen by tourists, said Duong Mai Lan from Vietravel Company.
Other destinations to start off the year include Can Gio Mangrove Biosphere Reserve; Phat Quang Pagoda with more than 300 years of history in the Phan Thiet seaside city; Hanoi-Halong-Sa Pa/Perfume Pagoda; Temple of Tien Dung-Chu Dong Tu and Bat Trang Ceramic Village.
Several travel agencies said that many above tours have been booked in advance. With these tours, tourists are expected to have new experiences even in some very familiar landscapes.
For international tourists, they will be delighted with traditional festivals organised at the beginning of the year and unforgettable moments at New Year’s Eve and on their way to enjoy the spring in Vietnam.
