More tourists arrive in Vietnam for first days of Lunar New Year
More than 2,000 foreign tourists on three
international cruise ships arrived in Nha Trang City on February 9.
It was the first time Nha Trang has received three cruise ships at the same
time. They included the Minerva with 200 crew and 400 tourists from the US, the
Princess Daphne with 200 crew and 300 passengers from Australia and the Europe,
and the Nautica with 360 crew and 700 tourists from the US. The visitors visited
famous tourist sites in Nha Trang, including Thap Ba, Hon Chong, and enjoyed
tours of countryside as well as local cuisines.
Earlier on February 5, nearly 1,800 foreign tourists from the Artermis Cruise
Ship visited Nha Trang City.
Nha Trang received four international cruise ships with nearly 4,000 foreign
tourists on the first days of Lunar New Year.
The Department of Culture, Sports and Tourism in Khanh Hoa province welcomed
96,000 visitors from February 3-7, 15 percent more than the same period last
year.
*** Nearly 4,000 domestic and foreign tourists visited the Dong Van Stone
Plateau on the fist days of Lunar New Year. It was a good signal for Ha Giang
province.
Tourists had a good chance to enjoy the beautiful landscape and traditional
festivals of ethnic minority groups in the region.
The Dong Van Stone Plateau was recorgnised as a member of the Global Network of
National Geoparks after nearly three years of preparation, creating a foundation
for the province to develop tourism.
Many other tourist sites attracted a lot of visitors, such as Lung Cu Flag
tower, Dong Van ancient streets, Co Tien mountain and Ma Li Leng.
The province aimed to receive more than 350,000 tourists, and avenue of nearly
VND300 billion in 2011.
