Upswing in visitors to Dong Van Plateau

Dong Van Stone Plateau welcomed nearly 4,000 domestic and foreign tourists during Lunar New Year's Eve (Tet), bringing total tourism turnover of VND 3 billion, Vice Chairman of Ha Giang's People Committee Mr. Sen Chin Ly said.
On the first day of Lunar New Year, the northern mountainous province of Ha Giang received a large number of tourists visiting its landscapes.
Coming to Ha Giang on Tet holiday, tourists not only had a chance to enjoy traditional festivals of ethnic groups such as buffalo-fighting, cock-fighting festivals..., but also joined in their traditional folkgames.
According to the Ha Giang's official, the province had organized sporting cultural activities and traditional festivals as well as well-prepared tourism promotion activities to attract tourists.
Dong Van Stone Plateau was officially recognized as a new member of the Global Network of National Geoparks (GGN) on October 3, 2010.
The new member of GGN is being enhanced with renewwed infrastructures to develop community tourism culture villages as well as to boost its tourist potentials such as eco-tourism, adventure tourism, cultural tourism...
That the number of visitors to tourist spots of Ha Giang during Tet increased sharply helps the province to expect a promising development in the future.
In 2011, the province strives to greet 350,000 visitors with VND 300 billions in turnover.
