Traditional festivals attract visitors

Travel agencies have prepared various tours to meet the high demands of visitors that take part in traditional festivals and cultural events launched during the first month of the Lunar New Year.
According to the travel agencies, many tourists have booked tours to visit temples and pagodas, and take part in traditional festivals after the Tet festival. The number of tourists is expected to increase by 20% to 30% compared to the same period last year. Most of them are domestic visitors, said Nguyen Cong Hoan, Deputy Director of Hanoi Redtour Company.
During the first days of the Lunar New Year, Vietnamese often visit temples and pagodas to pray for happiness, wealth, and longevity. So, many visitors bought tours to famous pagodas and temples, such as, Huong, Yen Tu, Bai Dinh, Tran, Hung, Con Son – Kiep Bac, and others, said Duong Mai Lan, an officer from Vietravel Company in Hanoi. The company has sold many tours, mainly one or two day tours to customers.
Saigontourist also introduced tours of traditional festivals in three regions for the first days of the Lunar New Year. Other travel companies, such as Hanoi Redtour, Fiditour, Ben Thanh, and Trai Tim Viet, have also launched similar tours.
