Electric buses attract visitors
More than 7,000 visitors took electric bus tours
around Hoan Kiem Lake and the Old Quarter in Hanoi during the 8 days of the
Lunar New Year Festival, according to Mr. Do Xuan Thuy, Director of the Dong
Xuan Joint Stock Company, which provides the electric bus service to visitors.
With such a large number of passengers, the company was able to earn more than
VND100 million. With 20 buses, the company could only provide services to no
more than 1,000 visitors a day despite the high demand of visitors during the
Tet holiday.
More than 400, among the visitors, were foreigners from European countries,
Japan, and South Korea.
Set-up on July 17th, 2010, the Company has provided its service to more than
100,000 visitors, and it plans to add more buses and improve the quality of its
service for tourists in the near future.
