Quan Ho folksong festival opens

The two-day Lim Festival, one of the most famous traditional events in the Northern Province of Bac Ninh, was launched on February 14th in Lim Town, Bac Ninh City.
The ongoing event aims to maintain and promote its local special cultural identity - Quan Ho folksong singing in the area.
The local authorities and residents completed preparation and ensured the security for the big event. Earlier on February 13th, the Province held a Quan Ho folksong singing program, which was broadcast live on TV channels nationwide.
With an aim of attracting thousands of visitors from many places nationwide, cultural activities and traditional games have been introduced during the event.
Bac Ninh’s Quan Ho folksong was recognised as an Intangible Cultural Heritage of Humanity by UNESCO in September of 2009.
