Measures to improve cultural and sports activities and tourism in remote areas

The Ministry of Culture, Sports and Tourism and the Committee for Ethnic Minorities have signed a cooperation agreement on improving cultural, sports and tourism activities for ethnic minority people in remote areas from 2011 to 2015.
Accordingly, the two sides will together launch measures to popularise Party and State guidelines and policies on developing Vietnamese culture, protect local customs and traditional trades and organise traditional festivals for ethnic minority people.
Programs to help local people develop their economies through tourist services, in addition to physical training movement among ethnic minority people, will be enhanced.
These measures and activities aim to improve the living standard of ethnic minority people, preserve and develop their traditions and cultural identities.
