Exhibition of Vietnamese portraits opened
The Vietnam Photography Artist’s Association, in
cooperation with the City Department of Culture, Sport and Tourism, held a photo
exhibition and review of the competition "Portrait of Vietnamese People Today"
on Saturday at Lam Son Square in Ho Chi Minh City.
The competition, organised by The Vietnam Photography Artist’s Association, has
received 4,112 works, including 3,362 photographs and 750 black and white photos
of 767 authors from 61 provinces nationwide, with 119 photos being selected for
exhibition.
Diep Duc Minh, from Ho Chi Minh City, won first prize, Nguyen Vinh Hien (from
Vinh Long) and Nguyen Trung Hieu (from Ho Chi Minh City) won the second prize,
while the third prize went to Nguyen Anh Tuan (Hanoi), Nguyen Van Dung (Hue) and
Luu Trong Dat (Hanoi); three out of six consolation prizes went to members of
The Hai Au Female Photographer Club.
At the ceremony, Diep Duc Minh also received certificates of merit from the Ho
Chi Minh City Fire/Police Department for recording beautiful images of policeman
on duty.
