Visitors rush to international firework competition in Da Nang
Many tours for the upcoming International
Fireworks Competition in Da Nang City have been sold out, according to large
tourism agencies.
The annual International Fireworks Competition 2011 (DIEC 2011) will be held in
the City on evenings of April 29th and 30th with five teams from the U.K., the
Republic of Korea, China, Italia and the host team from Da Nang.
According to Phan Tat, a representative of Song Da Tour Company, a large number
of tourists have booked tours for the coming competition, which falls on the
occasion of the Anniversary of the Liberation of the South and National
Reunification (April 30th).
The company has sold tours from Hanoi to Hue, Da Nang and Hoi An with the price
of VND6.8 million per person. Taking these tours, tourists will have
opportunities to visit famous tourist sites in the central region as well as
seeing the fireworks competition.
Hanoi Redtour has been sold-out of tours from after April 30th, said Nguyen Cong
Hoan, Deputy-Director of the Travel Agent.
However, some travel agencies are worried about the availability of air tickets
for visitors at the moment. Tourists are advised to book flights in advance.
Song Da Tour Company will have to prepare tours by train if there are not enough
air tickets for tourists.
Economy tickets of Vietnam Airlines for the route Hanoi–Da Nang have been sold
out, but business tickets are still available with the price of VND2.1 million.
There are no tickets left on Jetstar’s flights on the route Hanoi to Da Nang on
April 28th and 29th and May 1st and 2nd,
Meanwhile, hotels and resorts in Da Nang City are busy for the coming firework
competition, with many interesting programs being held in hotels and resorts to
serve visitors.
Finishing touches for the fireworks in Da Nang are being made with about 30,000
seats for audiences to watch firework performances, said the City’s Department
of Culture, Sports and Tourism.
