Summer festival opens in Da Nang

The 2011 Da Nang Summer Destination Festival officially kicked off at the Bien Dong (East Sea) Park in the central city of Da Nang on June 25.
Various cultural and sports events will take place during the festival, including music and dance performances, fashion shows, a cooking competition, a cyclo parade, boat racing, and a beach volleyball tournament.
For the occasion, travel agents and tourism businesses offered many attractive tours to explore Da Nang, as well as historical relics and other beautiful places in Quang Binh, Nha Trang, Hue, Hanoi, Ha Long and Sa Pa.
Vietravel organized tours running through the three countries of Indochina.
Hotels and resorts in Da Nang also offerred discounts up to 10 percent to attract more tourists.
