I am sorry it has taken me so long to reply but have been having trouble adjusting to Canadian time.
The guides and drivers were very helpful and friendly. The best guides were in Hanoi, Mekong Delta and Siam Reap. All guides listened to our requests and spoke good English. All drivers were excellent.
The only potential problem was when we were to take our first boat ride on the Mekong River. The company sent a tiny boat that would have not held the guide and John and I. There were no life jackets and any waves would have swamped us. It was definitely dangerous. Our guide, Minh, refused the boat and arranged for a larger safer boat with life jackets. Minh ensured we were safe at all times and we really enjoyed his tour.
All our hotels were wonderful, comfortable and the staff in each hotel were very helpful. The service was perfect.
It was a vacation John and I will always remember and we learned so much. It was a true adventure for us.
