Itinerary
Day 1: Arrival in Hanoi
Arrive in Hanoi. Greeted by your guide at the airport. Transfer to your hotel in the city centre and at leisure in the rest of the day. Late afternoon, take a Cyclo Tour in the Old Quarter and enjoy Water puppet show.

Day 2: Hanoi city
You are free today to relax or self explore the city. Highlights are Tran Quoc pagoda, the oldest one in Hanoi, located on a semi island in West lake. Then heading to Ho Chi Minh mausoleum complex, visit his stilt house and museum telling you about his life and revolutionary cause. The next stop is One Pillar pagoda, located right within the mausoleum complex area, one of the most iconic pagoda in Vietnam. The morning tour ends with a visit to the Literature Temple, the first university of Vietnam, built in 1070 at the time of King Ly Thanh Tong. This ancient site offers a lake of literature, the Well of Heavenly Clarity, turtle steles, pavilions, courtyards and passageways that were once used by royalty.
In the afternoon visit Vietnam museum of ethnology where introduce lifestyles and cultures of 54 Vietnamese ethnic groups. Beside the indoor exhibition, the museum also has out-door area displaying number of houses modeling after the traditional architecture of ethnic minorities which makes the museum stand out from others. Optionally, we visit Hoa Lo prison, built by French colonist to keep Vietnamese political prisoners and later for American pilots.

Day 3: Hanoi – Ha Giang
Our guide will pick-up you at your hotel in Hanoi. Over 300km trip you will see the change from urban to rural, from delta to mountainous. You go through rice fields, villages, tea hills, orange hill and many other fruits. Arrive Ha Giang, visit a Tay village, stay with local people in their house.
Day 4: Ha Giang - Quan Ba – Nam Dam
After breakfast get on car to Nam Dam. On the way we will go through Quan Ba Gate to admire the scenery of villages, towns and clouds below your feet. Then we go to Nam Dam, a village of Red Dzao people lying peacefully on low hills.
After lunch with the host, we will take a walk around the village, you will see the difference between the two ethnic groups you stayed yesterday and today. We will also go through the field, mountain to enjoy the landscape and meet people in their daily life.
A hot dinner is waiting for you, have a happy dinner with them and stay together in their house tonight.
Day 5: Nam Dam - Yen Minh - Dong Van
After breakfast say goodbye to the host and get on car to Dong Van, on the way visit Lung Cu Flag Pole, the Northernmost point of Vietnam. Have some stops for taking photo and contemplate breath taking landscape of the area. Have lunch en route.
Afternoon we will visit Vuong Chi Sinh's house, a land lord of H'Mong hill tribe in the past.
Arrive Dong Van, check in guest house, free time to visit the small town. If it is early you can have a short trek to Don Cao, a mountaintop bunker built by French military in the wartime to control the area. Free to enjoy dinner and homestay in Dong Van town.
Day 6: Dong Van - Meo Vac – Ba Be
Have breakfast and visit Dong Van Market (market day on Sunday). Depart to Meo Vac on Ma Pi Leng Pass. Today we will have a long day on the winding road, steep pass with stunning views. The destination today is Pac Rang Village, a small village on Ba Be Lake, in Ba Be National Park. If you arrive early, take a walk around the village and breathe the fresh air and chat with the people here.
We will have a fun dinner with the host and spend the night in their house.
Day 7: Ba Be – Hanoi
After breakfast we will take a boat to visit Ba Be Lake, the biggest fresh mountain lake in Southeast Asia. Have a look at local people catching fish or moving on their canoe. We will visit Puong Cave, a large cave created by running water and now home to tens of thousands of bats. After a boat trip we will return to Hanoi.

Day 8: Hanoi – Halong Bay
We leave for Halong Bay after breakfast (3.5 hours) passing verdant farmland and see local farmers in their daily life. Arrive in Halong at noon, board your boat and enjoy lunch including fresh seafood as you embark on a 4 hours cruise into the Bay of the Descending Dragon.
You’ll stop to explore one of the many expansive grottoes here then continue cruising to a quiet firth. There will be lots of time for swimming and sun bathing. Cruise to a quiet firth and enjoy a great sunset dinner, relax under the starlit sky before retiring to the comfort of your cabin.

Day 9: Halong Bay – Hanoi
Enjoy sunrise in the Bay. Have breakfast and continue your cruise around the bay, passing Cua Van floating village to witness this unique way of life. Check-out your room, have lunch. Transferred back to Hanoi.

Day 10: Hanoi departure
You are free until our driver pick up you and transfer to Hanoi airport for your next destination. Tour ends.
