Itinerary

 Day 1: Arrival in Hanoi
Arrive in Hanoi. Greeted by your guide at the airport. Transfer to your hotel in the city centre at leisure in the rest of the day. Late afternoon, take a Cyclo Tour in the Old Quarter and enjoy Water puppet show.

 Day 2: Hanoi city
You are free today to relax or self explore the city. Highlights are Tran Quoc pagoda, the oldest one in Hanoi, located on a semi island in West lake. Then heading to Ho Chi Minh mausoleum complex, visit his stilt house and museum telling you about his life and revolutionary cause. The next stop is One Pillar pagoda, located right within the mausoleum complex area, one of the most iconic pagoda in Vietnam. The morning tour ends with a visit to the Literature Temple, the first university of Vietnam, built in 1070 at the time of King Ly Thanh Tong. This ancient site offers a lake of literature, the Well of Heavenly Clarity, turtle steles, pavilions, courtyards and passageways that were once used by royalty.
In the afternoon visit Vietnam museum of ethnology where introduce lifestyles and cultures of 54 Vietnamese ethnic groups. Beside the indoor exhibition, the museum also has out-door area displaying number of houses modeling after the traditional architecture of ethnic minorities which makes the museum stand out from others. Optionally, we visit Hoa Lo prison, built by French colonist to keep Vietnamese political prisoners and later for American pilots.

 Day 3: Hanoi – Mai Chau
After breakfast, we will depart Mai Chau. Mai Chau is a spacious, beautiful valley. The people here are mostly Thai, they live on wooden stilt houses in the villages that scattered in the valley. We will have lunch at a homestay with local food.
In the afternoon, we would go cycling or wandering in the village and neighboring villages to see the lives of the people here. You may encounter people doing paddy rice or working in the field. You may also meet a wedding or a ceremony of resident here.
After a day, we will together have dinner and stay tonight with the host.

 Day 4: Mai Chau - Cuc Phuong
After breakfast, we will leave for Cuc Phuong National Park, the first national park in Vietnam. There are many rare bird species are strictly protected. In the afternoon, we will have a walk in the park by bike or on foot, we may have the opportunity to meet rare animals here.
Dinner and overnight at the guest house of Cuc Phuong National Park.

 Day 5: Cuc Phuong National Park
Today we will explore Cuc Phuong National Park, depending on the season, our excursion maybe a primate rescue center or trekking in the forest, to visit a cave lodge of Old Man, thousand years old tree or archaeological sites in the park.

 Day 6: Cuc Phuong – Phat Diem
After breakfast, we will visit the stone church Phat Diem, a unique architecture, a combination of European church and the ancient curved roofs of Vietnam pagodas. Phat Diem Church is also one of the first Catholic places to set foot in Vietnam.
After visiting Phat Diem, we will return to Tam Coc for lunch and enjoy the scenery of Tam Coc with a rowing boat trip and visit Hoa Lu, the ancient capital of Vietnam more than 1,000 years ago.

 Day 7: Tam Coc – Halong Bay
We leave for Halong Bay after breakfast, passing verdant farmland and witness the daily life of the local peasant farmers. Arrive in Halong at noon, board your boat and enjoy lunch including fresh seafood as you embark on a 4 hours cruise into the Bay of the Descending Dragon.
You’ll stop to explore one of the many expansive grottoes here then continue cruising to a quiet firth. There will be lots of time for swimming and sun bathing. Cruise to a quiet firth and enjoy a great sunset dinner, relax under the starlit sky before retiring to the comfort of your cabin.

 Day 8: Halong Bay – Hanoi
Enjoy sunrise in the Bay. Have breakfast and continue your cruise around the bay, passing Cua Van floating village to witness this unique way of life. Check-out your room, have lunch. Transferred back to Hanoi.

 Day 9: Hanoi departure
You are free until our driver pick up you and transfer to Hanoi airport for your next destination. Tour ends.
